Shahab is a driven neurology postdoctoral researcher at UCLA, specializing in the study of neurodegenerative diseases. With a solid foundation in medicine, having earned his M.D. from Yazd Medical University in Iran, Shahab embarked on his career as a general physician, focusing on neurology. Upon joining UCLA, Shahab’s focus has been on unraveling the intricate molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases. His research interests converge on leveraging extracellular vesicle biology to advance the development of diagnostics and therapeutics in this field. Since the spring of 2024, Shahab has been a part of the Bitan Lab, contributing to the Biomarkers project for various neurodegenerative diseases.
