Jaya Bhalla is an undergraduate student at UCLA majoring in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology. She was introduced to the field of neurodegenerative diseases after her grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Since then, she has been interested in learning about preventative medicine and how biomarkers can be used for the early diagnosis of diseases. She joined the Bitan Lab in Winter 2024 and is working on a project studying unique markers of extracellular vesicles.
