Conjunctival Amyloidosis
Conjunctival amyloidosis is a rare, localized disease that usually occurs in middle-aged adults. In conjunctival amyloidosis, amyloid made of currently unknown proteins is deposited in the conjunctiva—the membrane that covers the front of the eye and lines the inside of the eyelids. Symptoms include pain or droopy eyelids. There is currently no treatment for this condition.
